N ‘Golo Kante showed a man of the match in Chelsea’s Champions League final, then showed his humble side when he met the famous trophy.
The 5-foot-6-inch midfield dynamo covered every blade in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City, proving impossible to overcome and even winning the biggest duels from the air for his team. Amazing.
But as his fellow Chelsea players received medals and passed the Champions League trophy, everyone paused to kiss him. Everyone, that is, except Kante: who gave him a shy, awkward bat with both hands and continued walking.

This is a player who left Stamford Bridge in a Mini Cooper after helping lead Chelsea to this final by defeating Real Madrid. Just one of many examples of Kante’s shy nature.
The box-to-box midfielder was the best player on the field Saturday night in Porto, but he was the most reserved when he eventually faced one of the few big trophies he had never won from the front.
At least his family showed the full extent of their emotions when his mother stepped onto the field to embrace Kante in a warm hug after the match.
Hope we can all make our mum proud the way Kante has, this is so wholesome

We also know that his colleagues at Chelsea are keen to show their appreciation for him, as Kante is brought to the field full time.
LETS GO KANTE!!!!!! ❤️🥺 pic.twitter.com/JM60FO6MXh
